International Festival of Plays Pleasant and Unpleasant is the perfect mixture of performances, discussions, meetings with artists, concerts, screenings and multimedia exhibitions. The theme of the XXII edition, which constituted a starting point for us with as far as the creation and the design of identification of the event was concerned, was the artist and their limitations. The key visual is based on a permanent element of the Festival’s communication – the outline of the head, which stands for the fact that art is born in the mind of the artist. The lines extending from the head are a symbol of a network and relationships that determine the work of the artist and the final shape of their work. We also used modern lettering. The choice of strong red color in juxtaposition with the basic colors – black and white, was driven by the connotation of the term ‘limitation’ with alerts. In addition, we developed a monochrome version of Festivals logo and ordered used typography.
